My son, completed the 8 day blitz at the end of June this year. He is six years old and had developed an irrational fear of swimming and getting his head under water. I had heard about your program through another parent last year and looked into the lessons. Unfortunately, I was afraid to sign him up because I wasn't comfortable in leaving him in a pool with a complete stranger out of my sight. I tried two consecutive lessons at another local swim lesson program for him last summer which seemed to only make him more anxious in the water. I was frustrated with the results and knew I would spend a fortune in swim lessons before he ever learned how to swim. This summer, I again tried to put off signing him up for your program due to finances. I tried a couple of options but quickly saw that because he was so very stubborn and fearful, those options weren't going to work for him either. So I called and spoke to one of your staff members about my apprehensions as a parent. I became reassured that the 8 day Blitz would be my son's best chance of getting over his fear. I have a 2 year old and am expecting our third baby next month so getting my son to learn to swim was a priority. So I signed him up and ever so reluctantly he went. Each morning he would complain of stomach pains and would often refuse to eat breakfast. However, as the lessons went on, he eventually lessened his anxiety. His instructor was very firm with him which is just what he needed. I couldn't believe the progress he made in such a short time. He was so proud of himself! The last day our instructor gave me suggestions on how to work with him in the pool myself. After not being able to go the pool for two weeks following the class, I took him yesterday. He didn't want to go and I was afraid he had already regressed. But I stayed firm and followed our instructor's suggestions, making him practice before having free time in the pool. Within an hour, he was swimming on his own under water again and diving to the bottom of the pool for items all on his own volition. He began doing cannonballs into the pool and challenging himself to swim further with his "rocket hands". Needless to say, we stayed much longer than I anticipated because he did not want to get out of the water!! I was so happy to see him enjoy the pool and have fun instead of being fearful of it. Those lessons made all the difference in the world with him. He is comfortable in the water now and has come so far in a few weeks! I want to thank you for your awesome program and have recommended it to many parents already. If it worked for my son, then it will work for any child! So again thank you for getting my son over his fear of water so that he can enjoy the rest of his summer!

My son, went down the slide at the YMCA pool this evening for the first time! He has wanted to do this for some time, but you have to be able to swim a certain distance in the pool. We told his swim instructor on Monday about his goal. He has worked so beautifully with our son this week to achieve his goal. Would you please let his instructor know of his success? Also, this is the first year (out of 3) that our son hasn’t cried or carried on before, after or during his lessons. For this, I am so grateful! Our son actually said after the first lesson this week, “I could do everything he asked me to do! I wonder what we’ll do tomorrow?” Of course, we can’t forget about our daughter's instructor and all her hard work with my daughter! Our daughter was jumping in all over the pool tonight and she was very proud of her rocket hands. The instructor was so good for her! She knows when to be firm with her and is full of praises for good work! We were delighted she was our daughter's swim instructor again this year! I don’t know if my children will choose to be on swim teams, but I’m so glad to see them improve in their swimming and enjoy being in the water. I appreciate your instructors listening to me on the first day, when I asked them to see where my children are and work with them to move them forward. They did a fabulous job! Gratefully, Kim H.

Our daughter began taking lessons at the Morgan Swim School last summer (2009) at age 4. When she began, she didn’t like getting more than her feet wet in pools, even her own little plastic one. Now, at age 5, she confidently enjoys swimming and has no qualms jumping straight into the pool and putting her head under water. Learning to swim has given her confidence to try other things. I strongly recommend the Morgan Swim School.

When I was four I started taking swim school lessons with the Morgans. It was hard but I kept trying. God helped me persevere when it was hard. Now I’m swimming all over the place. I helped Cailin not to cry during Swim School because I knew how to do it so I helped her. I told her to trust in God that He would help her. Now we have fun swimming together. I will help my sister Laina to swim too. They are good sisters and I love them. God will help Laina and all of us to swim together. The End!

I previously enrolled my 3-year old daughter in [another local learn-to-swim program] swim class for her to learn the basics, and so that I would feel comfortable that she could "save herself" until help arrived if she found herself in an emergency situation. After two weeks' of classes, I did not feel that my daughter had learned any basics and, in fact, continued to put her in a life vest in the pool. The next summer … what a difference with Morgan Swim School! My daughter definitely left the 8-day blitz with a skill level that I was thrilled with! She learned the basics, and I was extremely comfortable with her ability to save herself if necessary. And she had a blast in the class! We will definitely be continuing with additional classes through MSS!

Our daughter always loved being in the water. When she was about a year old we took her to [another local learn-to-swim program] for the Babies/Parents class. By the end of the week, we noticed that she was becoming fearful. I saw a newspaper article about Morgan Swim School and liked what I read. Their approach was totally different. She was so comfortable that by the end of the week she chose to float on her back. (This is very unusual for toddlers.) We went back the next year and took the 4-day Blitz. She was swimming by the end of the week -- before her second birthday. She is now 13 and we've gone back to Morgan Swim School every year for strokes improvement. We tell everyone about MSS!

When I started asking other moms about swimming lessons for my daughter with Down syndrome, the same name came up over and over. Try Morgan swim school.....so I did. Rachel's first lessons were when she was six. She was afraid of the water, so I didn't know what to expect. She had patient, but firm teachers to work with her. She became such a confident child in the water after those lessons! I decided to do lessons again the next summer, and the teachers built on that confidence and she is now swimming independently. I am amazed at how far she has come with only three weeks of lessons. Thank you very much for what you do, and see you next summer!

My daughters learned to swim from the Morgan Swim School when they were four, and I have continued with refresher lessons for the past six years. Their unique teaching style is the most effective and efficient method that I have ever come across.

My son, Zach, is 10 years old and has always loved the water. He also has Autism. Despite lessons at [another local learn-to-swim program], Zach could not swim, nor did he have a healthy respect for how dangerous jumping into deep water could be. This is beginning to change, thanks to The Morgan Swim School. What a blessing they have been. Zach participated in an 8-day blitz over the summer and is now continuing with once a week private lessons. The instructors have been consistent, firm and caring. When Zach started with M.S.S. , he had virtually no skills in the water, As of this writing (November 2009) he can swim , using rudimentary strokes, the length of the pool. We are thankful each day that we found the Morgan Swim School.

Before my 3 year old daughter participated in MSS's 8 day blitz last summer, she would not put her head underwater without crying and screaming. By the end of the two weeks, she was voluntarily and happily jumping in the water, swimming underwater to retrieve objects on the bottom of the pool, swimming to the side of the pool, and floating on her back. The transformation was remarkable - and entirely due to the fantastic teaching style of Morgan Swim School's instructors!
